Can I print on standard DVDRs/CDRs?

Hi all,

I recently purchased the Epson R220 Stylus Photo printer, & am anxious to try some disc printing!

Question: Can I print on "standard" DVDRs & CDRs? I have many TY Shiny top & Verbs, & I would like to print labels on them.

Thought I would ask before I attempted it!

im pretty sure you can print on regular ones i had a mate who printed on regular ones (just writing not pictures)

I have always heard it was a no no to use sticky labels, if that is what you are considering. It isn't pretty ,but I just keep using the old Sharpie.

I call mine LightScribe Sharpie just for the heck of it or SharpieL.

I am printing directly on the disc; not using sticky labels.

I would try one if you are not afraid, It will not hurt the printer, if the disc can not keep the color it just one disc

True, & that is what I will do, I guess. I just wanted to see if anyone had any experiences doing it, & what their success was.

Thought I would also use the matte spray over the print, as discussed in another thread, to further seal the ink...

Will do! I will post the results when I do it. Also have heard some people say that their ink stays slightly wet for up to a week; if they handle it, it smudges, so I guess I should let the ink dry several days before applying the sealing spray.

I've read somewhere...either here or over there that it won't work. I've often wondered the same myself. I have an R320 and just buck up and buy the printable media.

EDIT: I can tell you that it won't work on a plain ole shiney top disc though.
