Problems burning home movies with Nero Vision Express

Hi! I need some help with burning a home movie created in Windows Movie Maker using Nero Vision Express. Some of it is okay, but there are several sections (particularly short segments) that are very jerky and grainy. I have tried burning at 4x speed already, thinking that might help - but it didn't.
Could someone please give me some ideas???
