    Power Calibration area error

I am "all of a sudden" having problems burning DVDs. I use DVD Shrink, which still works fine, and DVD Dekrypter to put it on disks. Now I get this error:

I tried making a disk I burned previously and it would not work. I also can't play DVDs I've burned previously but it will play one that is not burned that is store bought. When I put in a burned one it starts out really jumpy and slow then locks up. I can burn cd's ,use cd-rw's still. I have a Dell Inspiron 9100, running Win XP, and have a NEC DVD+RW ND 6100 A. I also tried burning some mpeg movies to a DVD using Sonic record now and it says it completed sucessfully but the disk is blank. Is my drive dead or is it something else? HELP PLEASE?

Opps, I did format the HD not too long ago after backing up everything to a external drive. Had a registry problem I couldn't fix. But I reinstalled all my original software. Had done it before never had this problem.

this looks scary, did you switch blanks recently?

we can go for broke and try to change the drive over to a nec 6500 or
    1. it's already dead
    or
    2. you can try to find older blanks that still work??

Thank you for your response. I haven't switched media, buy them 150 or so at a time. How do I change to 6500. I'd like to try that before I order a new drive.
      Thanks
