    browser issues

Whenever i open an .mpg instead of saving it to disk, my browser (wether i use IE or Firefox) adds a .mpa extension to it (so movie.mpg becomes movie.mpg.mpa). It started around the time i installed CMX studio which required me to update my windows media player. Now i can only open mpegs with windows media player because if i open it with anything else, theres no video and the audio is all garbled. I've already run spybot and it didnt fix the problem. Is there any way to fix this?

rename to .mpg, or save as "file.mpg" when you get the 'save as' dialog
