my motherboard only has serial ports so i'm planning to use a pci slot to connect my samsung SH-S182D dvd burner. what's the difference between the $10-$15 ide cards and the $30-$50 ones? based on the reviews, price seems to be rather independent of quality. are there variable features that i need to know about before buying? all the cards i'm looking at have a 133 mb/s rate, but i don't really know what else to look for. do raid controllers support optical ide devices and if so does it make a difference whether i use one?
