Windoze Automatic Updates and IE7

Thank you windows for automatically downloading the junk IE7 in this month's updates.

Another reason to toss it!! Give me my firefox!

i like IE7 much better than IE6. still, prefer firefox though

yes same prob here but it actually appear after some updates, iv just revert to xp and choose the image that was without updates for no reason and it doesnt show me that weird problem.

also ie7 vista doesnt show that eithr.

I use the notification for updates and select which ones to install. I have not installed IE7 yet.

But I did download and install IE 7, tweaked it, and removed the extra crap in MSCONFIG it dumped in. Certainly not great, but just OK.

But I would not want VISTA under any conditions free or not, the general public need to boycott this product by Microsoft, and the general public needs to understand what Microsoft is doing to your computer when you use this OS.

Since I updated my Internet Explorer 7 I keep getting an empty Common folder opening itself everytime I boot up. I don't know what that is all about. I've seen the Common folder in my hard drive but I don't want to delete it encase I bugger something up.

Be very careful. Goto your control panel/folder options and do below,


Then look at the folder. If it is empty then, it is probably safe to delete it.

Remember to reset the options back so nothing is deleted accidentally.

Many thanks for your help. I'll do that. Do you mean I should reset the options if the folder remains empty where it's safe to delete?

I mean to retick the lower box and tick the box above the higher option. This way after you check the "empty" folder, no one else can select and delete a necessary file/folder by accident.

Blu, what font bug? Do you mean that when you set the size of the readable font that it just won't stay to the size you select. The next time you have to adjust it again. If so, I agree totally! It aggravates me. And why you have to keep adjusting the page side to the left side so you can see the whole page is beyond me. I wish you could set the size of print and the left side of the page to the left side of the screen and make it stay.
