Giveaway of the Day - Inpaint 2.0

November 3, 2009Inpaint reconstructs the selected image area from the pixel near the area boundary. Inpaint may be used to remove undesirable objects from still images.

Delete any unwanted object from your photo, such as extra power-line, people, text… The program will automatically inpaint the selected area to erase it.

If some unexpected object spoils an otherwise good photograph, Inpaint may be used to remove it. Simply select the object. No need for fiddly messing about with the clone tool!

It is alarmingly simple to use. Draw a selection around the object you wish to remove from the picture, and run smart remove selection. Inpaint will fill the selection area with intelligently generated texture drawn from the surrounding image data.

Every day we present FREE licensed software published by developers from all over the world.

This is awesome for photo editing for those oops or even removing someone that spoiled a pic.
Don't forget to use the activation code in the read me file.
    Enjoy

I haven't tried it myself yet. It claims to support XP,Vista and W7 both 32 and 64 bit systems. On Softpedia it's given a rating of 5 out of 5 by 6 users which usually indicates a good find. Just thought I'd pass it along.
looking for a partiton manager for win7/64 i came across Partition Wizard, which is freeware and looks very much like good old partition magic

tried it with win7/64 and must say: it works fine!

The author made some changes in the latest MyDefrag. In the previous version it put scripts in the start menu.. Fast Optimize etc.. in the latest he has a gui where you can click. Guess he's trying to make the names self-explanatory. I don't particularly care for that set up. I just drag the Optimize Daily script onto Selector to set it up as a launch short name. Once set up I just pass the drive letter via Text command line option as in C: or D: highlight the script name in Selector and hit the Go button.

You probably get better performance with MyDefrag if you run programs that create a lot of small files since it can create the files in the gaps between "zones" .. I think Auslogics is a lot simpler where it pretty much just globs the files together.. so to write a new tiny file your disk might have to seek past the glob where everything is at the front of the disk. But usually stuff like Auslogics tends to glob onto big globs that already exists to do the least work, so if you optimize with MyDefrag you may be able to run 3 or 4 quickie defrags with Auslogics before you feel any gain from doing MyDefrag again. It gives options anyway. It's interesting to see people discuss zone strategies for particular PC usage on the MyDefrag forums.

edit: big run-on paragraph with too many 'so's .. so I'm sorry about that. Hope I conveyed the idea.

    My Defrag n Auslogics Defrag

I just ran CrystalDiscMark after the optimize and it did show much better numbers. Probably due to the "zone strategy" used by MyDefrag with that script.

Looks like it's worth doing a Fast Optimize periodically with Auslogics quickie defrags thrown in every couple of days in between.

I installed My Defrag on my XP Home, and tried either optimize daily, or just plain Defrag script. It went a ways then closed to some system memory stuff to protect my files. Otn, I now realize that even on a storage drive you can't fill it up, or you won't be able to do a nice defrag or one at all.

I installed Auslogics Defrag and it went all the way, but only defragged 1%. So as we speak I'm transfering about 100 or more GBs. to another drive to have space for a nice defrag. I like Auslogics, and as you noted a couple of times it's great for a quick defrag, which is ok by me for my storage drives.

I think the settings for My Defrag on XP, and 7/Vista are a lil different as I didn't see a option for Fast Optimize. Just ones for Daily, weekly, and monthly optimizations. If I'm missing something let me know.

I'll be using Auslogics though for the quick defrags on my storage drives. I took a peep at Auslogics Optimization proggie, but it's a paid version. I bet it's good though. You do get mostly what you pay for. Sometimes not always, cheap or free turns out to be expensive if you know what I mean.
