I'm running windows XP ,eMachine T-3025 AMD Athlon(tm)XP 3000+ GHz 2.17, 448MB of RAM and I too have started to have problems ripping, ever since I ripped Dead Mans Chest, which was a real pain . I've updated all my programs, my DMA is at top speed and everything else seems to be normal, except no matter which program I use to rip ( ripit4me, dvd fab express, or dvd decrypter) it now takes an hour to rip, before this it avg about 15-20min..encoding and burning are normal ... did pirates have a bug in it ???

Hardly anything that could hurt your PC. Try checking your DMA again at the BIOS level.
Anything else grabbing the drive/processor?

sorry to be a pain, but I don't know how to do that. I tried looking up in help , but all I was able to find is that that the BIOS is the basic input /ouput system which located in the ROM , How do you find out if anything else is grabbing the drive /processor ?
ThanksComment

Use Task Manager - Ctrl-Alt_Del. Check out CPU %s. See if anything else is hogging it.
Don't access the BIOS unless you know what you're doing.

This is an issue for Chewy I think in General Computing. I'm gunna move your posts.
A reinstall of DVD Decrypter might be useful.

just in case there's something a little screwy about your dma/ide driver setup
try number 1(quick fix) from here
my hunch was this is a nf2 mobo, google confirms
eMachine T-3025 NVidia nForce2 IGP
nice little box, even had an agp slotComment
