    USB 1.1 to USB 2.0

Is it possible to upgrade my current 1.1 USB ports to USB 2.0...I don't mind modding my case as it's old and hidden. Or is my only choice a PCI card? The reason I ask is I bought a HDD camcorder for my wife for xmas and it requires a 2.0 connection. My laptop has USB 2.0, but I'd rather use my desktop for conversions and burning.

    chewy?

must have a slower cpu, usb2 has been around for quite some time now,
a few computers had usb2 and usb1 during the transitions

Don't see an enhanced controller in Device Manager, but I might be looking in the wrong place. Would Infotool give you the info you need? The PC is a Sony VAIO about 4 years old...funny thing is, in device manager one USB port is listed as 2.0 and the rest are listed as 1.

                what OS?
do a screen shot of usb in device manager

have you tested all the back ports?

                you have usb2

the quote was from a sony vaio info report

no it's off your motherboard, probably have 2 ports(CONNECTIONS) sharing,
just don't print and capture at the same time

Might as well add the USB 2.0 PCI card, cheaper and it'll give you more 2.0 ports.
