ACER laptop to TV display

hey everyone,

I recently bought a LCD TV and tried to connect my laptop to the TV by a 15 Pin D-sub cord. on booting the systemi can see windows XP on my LCD screen but when the login screen comes, the display caomes back to the laptop and does not return to the LCD. pLEASE someone help me with this

I have a Compaq laptop now and the fn/f4 key combo switched the output from the laptop to the external monitor or svideo output. I can't remember what key combo worked on the Dell.

Look for a function key (f1 to f12) with a rectangle with a rectangle in it and hold down the key with the fn in a square on it ( mine is at the lower left of the keyboard) and see if that works. You should be ablt to find the info on the Acer site or maybe built in help on the laptop (I hope)

Try this (depends on the age of your Acer)

Open Acer emanager, click on Acer esettings, click on Display device.

Select what you want to do and close.

Hope this helps.

Acer website has all the user manuals for their machines if that is of any help.

esetting crashing

thanx a lot for the advice guys, but as soon as i click on e-setting, it crashes, can i resinstall it somehow!!

On the Acer laptop that I have which is an Aspire 3000 model, F6 and FN is used to turn on the the external port for using a external monitor.
