WOW, thats wild but the way I see it if you are going to download a keygen to be able to pirate software then you get what you get.

Good find chewy. Very interesting link.

I don't understand, where are they stealing it and how? I buy a lot of stuff over the internet and I don't want to get caught with my pants down.

there's a multitude of ways for your computer to be infested, email attachments, screensaver, one tiny activex component from a web page.

Ever go to a web page and it says to view this content, listen to this music, etc, you have to install this???????? Just say yes! That's the trojan downloader you installed and it's downloading more components as you surf.

          keyloggers etc

Normally I won't download anything like that. Once in a while I will need Shockwave or something like that to play a game. I only buy music from Musicmatch. But it sounds like I'm still not safe. What do you do apart from staying off the net?

Also make sure you have good anti virus software with spyware, spam blockers, pop up blockers and all that good stuff.

Clean your registry on a regualar habit and you should be good.

And if your real worried about it NEVER have any important information on your computer such as SSI #, bank account #'s Pin #'s of any kind. Copies of credit card bills or ultility bills. Keep all that stuff off your computer that is hooked up to the net.

I have a computer that never goes online that is just for storing information like that.

But most important like Chewy said just say NO to anything that pops up that you didnt want to pop up or if you are unsure of what pops up.

Great find Chewy..I got a crack once (for a program) (which I later bought properly) and I had to reinstall Windows XP. I could not get rid of the spyware that was inserted unless the drive was wiped clean. A $100.00 mistake for a cheap piece of software.

BTW: What was the name of that program that monitored the keygen.exe file as it being installled?

You should take a large sharpie and write the words "Click NO" on the top of her monitor.

                            Many thanks for the warning.

I must add, it makes me wonder if there's any other software that can do the same that we don't know about.
