    Coincidence?

It might be coincidence but lately I have been getting device driver errors which lead to a restart. I can't remember for sure but I think they started after the last updates from you know who. This has now become a daily occurence. Any ideas on where I start?

How about uninstalling the last update you made, checking through msconfig and also checking the device driver hardware list.

Did you have any new hardware, firmware, driver update, or windows updates recently? Please check device manager for any indication

      Regards

I just checked Device Manager & scanned for hardware changes & it looks like nothing came up. I am positive this started after the las Windows updates but I am not sure. The last drivers to be installed were by me & they were DHZeroPoints 9291 display to replace the NVidia display driver but that was a while ago, way before this started.

If you suspect that the last update has caused the problem, pleasecheck if you can uninstall it or do a system restore and hope that will do the fix for you. Personally, for windows updates, I normally go for security (critical) updates and skip the recommended ones unless I do have the problems with them (it ain't broke why fix it). Somehow I don't always and completely trust MS though. Good luck soup

Thanks for the input, I will find the problem somehow. I don't quite want to do a system restore yet.

Conclusion: Well I uninstalled the DHZeropoints 9291's display drivers that I had been using with no problem at all before the last windows update & reinstalled the NVIDIA 8421's that were in before, seems to be problem solved. The symptoms were PC shutdown & restart, no warning & your screen would stay active even if you shut it off.
