I recently got an external TV Tuner for my system.
SIIG AVTuner Pro-PVR (quite happy with it)
It came with WinDVR 3 (this stuff blows...)
The WinDVR 3 is obviously a OEM version;
(build: 079.514C8G)
the Transcode and burn to disc are missing and no EPG access (although on the full version it didn't work either)....
I contacted intervideo about it and after a few calls they released a full version to me for the missing features.
I installed the Full version only to discover that is not compatible with the tuner. (the version that came with it must be a special build) The full version cannot pick up the sound/ audio (at least from cable, in the OEM version the audio input is greyed out, while the full version demands I select an audio source., plus the timer recorder wouldn't retain memory nor would the channel line up, everytime I restarted I would have to re-scan for channels). I spent an few hours trying to get it to work (really wanted a transcoder to DVDs since the main reason I got this was to do VHS > DVD) I eventually went and got Nero Vision 4 and that eliminated the need for the full version of WinDVR 3.
Everything is working well. I only have to use WinDVR to watch or capture the show in .mpeg format (which for some reason in TMPGnc 1.6 they (the .mpeg) read as being over the 9800 limit for DVD, eventhough the setting is 7200 video and 224 audio.....) but I simply open in Nero Vision and that cleans up the raw material.
I have a creative Live 5.1 sound card.
My question is Everytime I open WinDVR 3 the CD audio volume selector gets muted out automatically. This causes the Creative Diagnostic to tell me there is an error. Why is this happening and is there a setting to stop it from muting out the CD Audio?
Its not a real big deal, just kinda annoying.
