I am currently using Nero 6.6.0.18 and i can use dvd+r but it wont let me use dvd-r. Do i need to upgrade my dvd drive or is thier a program that i can use to solve this problem.

I would think that it is the DVD drive, maybe you need to update to the current version of firmware for your DVD drive. Could be bad media also. And also do what the LT has ask you do above. Thank you for letting me know the right way. Found out my drive wont burn dvd-r but will dvd+r so guess i will look into getting a dvd burner that will burn both. But again thanks for the help.

I would keep that drive even if you buy a new one, if it works well.
You can Booktype DVD+R to DVD-ROM, something you can't do with -R media.
