Do the drives used in a raid 1 array have to be identical( same brand, model, size) or can they be just the same size. I've looked around the internet but can't find a definite answer.
hardware raid 1 mirrors work best with identical drives, I have seen so many problems with novice users and raid that I gave up on it, even with matching drives
