I have never thought of that. I had also never had a mouse cause any problems or even die except when my dog thought he had to chew the mouse cable. And yes it could be that simple

You need to throw that mouse as far as you can. Get a real mouse, and hope is has not totally messed things up.

But, you may need to do a complete restore.

IMO get new mouse, with a cord. See if your computer lines out, if not then look at restoring back to older dates, if this does not fix any issues that may be there then restore. As I said IMO.

ADD: Get a new mouse 1st. Doing anything while that thing is attached is not GOOD.

Can a mouse really mess things up that bad ? I mean other than that the computer works great I have done alot of upgrades to it and runs like a champ mouse works fine for me when i am using it

ok im on my laptop watching a movie right now but as soon as its over i will head in there and hook up the old school mouse and report back.

Think about it, You are allowing any stray signals that may match your mouse to take control of your computer. Bad mouse sending random signals to your computer. What you have been telling us is programs open all by themselves. This are the only thing you are seeing, it is worse the just closing you eyes and start hittig keys on your keyboard randomly. You will get a combination that could completely mess up your system sometime.

                IMO = In My Opion

But, the people who have been trying to help you are some of the smartist people around. IMO

You know i didnt think about it but I have a wireless mouse and keyboard that both have seperate recievers. I bet that is the reason for the mouse acting goofy sometimes you think ?

a mouse going crazy can do this, back in the days of w95 or early 98 I had one go bonkers on me and I had to reinstall the OS after I changed the mouse
I remember something like that, too! I also had a keyboard, believe it or not, that exhibited similar behaviour, way back, a long time ago.

I would be typing, nothing happening, then all at once the letters would come pouring out! Keys would come & go. Funny thing was, it seemed like after a reboot, all would be okay for awhile. That's what was throwing me. But in the end, it was the keyboard that was bad.

                          Drove me crazy for awhile!

It's always the last thing you replace that fixes the problem. (It seems)

Hey all! I have a wireless Logitech mouse and KB, and every once in awhile it roams around freely. I've noticed that it happens when batts are going low.
Although I've yet to see it open any thing on it's own !!!!

I have a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard. No problems here except that the mouse would move too fast, easily fixed.

My gripe is that I can't find a replacement battery for the mouse. It's eating Duracells like crazy.

I have a Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse with Fingerprint reader receiver, works great. (Rechargables are the only way to go Kabu)
