    Premium Boost

Hi. I downloaded and installed Premium Booster from the giveaway of the day site. Tried it and it said I had around 280 problems ?????. Asked it to fix a couple, it did, but then locked up the whole PC. Had to reboot. Each time I opened it after it locked up again......Now uninstalled it, but everything is slowed down (but works).

How do I get back to square one, and is there a reliable program, free or otherwise, that will do the same thing..????

    Thanks and regards to all......

That's the problem with these 1-click performance programs, if you just hit ok you could be doing more harm then good.

Exactly what kind of problems did you ask it to fix?
Did the program save a log or have any backup options?
Aside from trying a restore, you should try to find out what was removed/altered on your computer.

Most of these programs will have an undo or restore option somewhere in their settings.

As soup says premium booster does have a restore option. Open the program and click on the back up your PC option, you should get the screen below:

Click on the undo option and it should return your PC back to the way it was. The repair function also has an undo option. God knows if that will work though as I have never used the program! Failing that a system restore is the way to go. Personally I would never use the one click options on these kind of programs, I like to know what they are upto!

Thanks all. It would have been nice to be able to 'Undo' but since it locked up every time it opened I uninstalled it. System restore was Ok of course, seems OK, but I feel that is only covering up problems.. Never mind, another lesson learned........Thanks again.

I downloaded the program and used it with no problems.
