    get your a drive working, load the drivers on a floppy, boot to the windows cd, at the first hit F6 to load the drivers from A

    you might want to get help the first time you do this

      Weird...I loaded from cd drive my XP cd and just let it install without specifying that I intended to install onto a SATA drive...and it worked. Though I still get the message about fasttrack controller and no bios being present. So I guess I just need to tweak bios and it will be ok.

        many mobos have a setting where raid is turned off for single drive use

          If it's turned off how come the drive is recognised for a Windows install?
