Microsoft Word experts: sorting question

I don't know if this is possible, but I thought I'd ask:

Is there a way to sort a list within Word that would disregard 'a', 'an', and 'the'?

In other words, I want:

Annie Hall
The Graduate
Patton

NOT

Annie Hall
Patton
The Graduate

You could put:

Graduate, The

You could write them in two different columns in Excel where the first column contains the 'a' 'an' 'the' or nothing and the second have the other word, sort them in excel using the second column and copy and paste them back in word.

That would be nice. I notice the WinAmp Library function does that.

I was hoping for a more automated solution than what's been suggested.

This seems like it would be a relatively basic function; I'm surprised Word doesn't provide it.

My list of titles in DVD Profiler does this automagically.
