ID:	921030OK you have helped me with all other issues so I figured that maybe you could assist me in an ongoing issue with my work laptop....
I have been unable to get sound on my laptop nothing was muted all volume was set to max...I tried all trouble shooting through windows..I uninstalled driver and tried to reinstall...it tells me that it cannot find the software...
when i received the laptop I removed games...music players...burning progs and all other crap that was added to the pc for personal use.I remember deleting SoundMax...so I went and downloaded it and well tried to install it and it tells me that it cannot find driver...any suggestions on how to fix this issue? and I tried to update/roll back all audio drivers.I do get the exclamation on the multimedia audio controller, which I updated/rolled back restarted pc and it cannot find software to install.

You could give this a shot & if it works you can uninstall when done & it won't affect the repair.

Go to control panel / sounds & audio devices & make sure place volume icon in the taskbar is checked. While you are in there check everything else.

Sounds like the audio drive is corrupted. Remove the audio driver and reinstall it. That usually works for me.

you can always use msconfig to stop the extra sound crap from loading

always go to the source, I just was at a firmware driver site that said set a system restore point before updating your firmware for a dvd burner, anyone can start a web site and post drivers supplied by anybody
