    Add Network Place Wizard

I've managed to create an FTP through Add Network Place Wizard before for my GeoCities so that I can publish by dragging folders in my GeoCities FTP folder. I deleted the FTP folder at some point and now I want to re-create it, it never works. The image shows what I keep getting and in the faint grey text, you can see what I entered and what error keeps coming.

When I clicked on View Some Examples, I followed those instructions and they give an example that is the same as mine except theirs is Microsoft and mine is GeoCities.

I wrote my own instructions ages ago when it worked so that I can follow my own instructions at a later time encase I forgot anything. I wrote them out as I went along so I couldn't have made a blunder. I only get as far as stage five and the error appears. My own intructions follow.

    01. When adding the GeoCities FTP folder in the PC, click on Start and My Network Places. If you can’t find it, do this. Open any folder with something inside that you want to publish. When you’re there, under Other Places, you’ll find My Network Places. Click on that and continue from there.

    02. In My Network Places, under Network Tasks, click on Add A Network Place.

    03. The Add Network Place Wizard box will appear. Click on Next.

    04. In the next box, click on Next.

    05. In the next box, under Internet Or Network Address, type ftp://ftp.geocities.com and click on Next.

    06. In the next box, untick Log On Anonymously. Under User Name, type in the user name that belongs to that server and click on Next.

    07. In the next box, you’ll see your FTP address pre-added under Type A Name For This Network Place. Click on Next.

    08. In the next box, leave the tick in Open This Network Place When I Click Finish. Click on Finish.

    09. In the next box, type in your user name and password. Save your password and click on OK and the FTP folder will open.

    Can somebody help, please?

    Many thanks.

    Darren.
