I know somebody'll think "Hey if you didn't know what you were doing wy did you go on and do it?". The answer is very simple: "How am I going to learn anything if I don't try?".
Therefore I've installed and unistalled dozens of programs (even upgraded BIOS - at least I think) and something somewhere has gone wrong.
I have a pc with two internal HDs and one external HD, two dvd burners and the only other thing I added is a USB card.
After one of my several experiments a while back I noticed the PC identified a new dvd drive (that just is not there). It could have something to do with Deamon tools and virtual drives, but I unistalled Deamon a long time ago and the imaginary drive stayed. A few days ago, my pc identified a new floppy drive, naturally the thing isn't any. I have tried using device manager to unistall, but if I instruct to identify changes in hardware or reboot the fake drives will appear again.
After reading another post I ran Nero's info tool which I attach - hope it's useful.
I've attached a few screenshots too.
Also, even though it might be a totally different issue, I've lately been getting problems unzipping/unraring due to CRC errors.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
