I have started using Firefox since I got this monitor, but I would rather use IE; I am running scared after FF lost my bookmarks once & I was unable to recover them

    Refresh rate 60 Hz

Never experienced that, nor has anybody else I know. But I do export bookmarks as a backup every time I make major changes to them, just to be on the safe side. You never know.

but a sort of "lag" when I scroll down a page. I can see the text sort of stretch slightly
      Which graphics card?

Do a google search, you'll find it, along with a lot of recovery suggestions that didn't work (for me)

I see what you mean, plenty of cases. As for the stretching it could be the graphics card struggling at that res.

Do I have to have a video card?
Yes, both your display and graphics card must have a common input/output port. You'll want DVI or at least D-sub.
