    You miss it.
You're right - I looked at that page, but didn't see it. >_>

I should be able to start the install tomorrow

I believe I will install ubuntu first, then windows in the partion created during install. If I do it this way, will xp still need the 3rd party driver?

For a 250 GB drive, from your experience, what sizes would you say would make a good partition, for each OS?

Does not matter in which order the OS's are installed, Windows won't see the Linux partitions without ext2fsd.

That depends on your needs. However, I would probably go with:

      sda1 - Windows, NTFS, 15GB
      sda2 - Linux "root" (or "/"), ext3, 10GB - 15GB
      sda3 - Linux "swap", linux-swap, 2GB
sda4 - Linux "home", ext3, 15GB (Optional, home does not require its own partition)
sda5 - Data, NTFS, whatever's left. (Both OS's should have access to this partition)

I have installed xp first, on 25 gb part. ( went a bit higher than you & Chewy) As soon as 7.04 is ready to go, I will probably jump in with both feet!

Well, I guess I better make sure this new pc is stable first, for a day or so...

LOL, I think Vista will do a great job drawing people towards Linux, including you, eventually . With all the bloat, DRM, security issues, buggy/costly software, and actual cost of Vista (especially outside of the US), Linux is looking better than ever to the masses.

Home page announced it was released, the announcement then disappeard after a refresh. Looks like server problems, but hopefully it will be out in the next few hours...

Chewy, are you using Vista yet? Not too late to become a convert!

I hate dual boots, and wouldn't touch vista with a 10 foot pole

what is wrong w/ dual boot? The time it takes to switch between OS?

What would you need to dual boot for? If it's a task that doesn't require peak performance (gaming does, in my case), there are apps like VMware and QEMU, both free, the latter open source, that will run Windows on top of Linux.

remember I am using raptor 35 gigs as boot drives in 2 computers, that 20 gig data partition is already too small

How would you get any video work done with that (fast, I would imagine)? 35GB is tiny. You could just run it off the Live CD every time.

It's out, but the servers are at death's door, the home page won't load. In the meantime, here it is

Well, all done. The bugs in the Beta install CD have been squished, everything went quite smoothly.

I can confirm that GParted is once again included, but needs to be accessed via System-->Administration instead of being launched during setup.
