Ok - well here we go on a new one; I am writing this from my other pc because Ubuntu won't boot. I get to the username/password screens; and then I get this-
Xsession: Unable to start Xsession -- no "/home/username/.xsession" file. no "\home/username/.Xsession" file, no session managers, no window managers, and no terminal emulators found: aborting.

Are you saying that I can install 32 bit ubuntu on my AMD 64 system?
I would rather just start over with that & maybe avoid a majority of these problems...

I just thought I should let you know that after following this thread all the way so far, I have decided to lay down & let the feeling to install ubuntu go away. I know two people here who have it up & running with no problem so I have respect for them & you anonymez after reading this thread, but as for me, no thanks.

after all, linux didn't get this far for this many years by being this buggy, I wouldn't think... And also, the fact that Dell is selling pc w/ ubuntu installed, it must be working on those, so I say, stay tuned...Comment
