it's the quality and bang for the buck that count

w/o rd's it might be more like work and not as much fun

Your right on both counts, bang for the buck and the RD's too

I just got a onboard video driver update too, the original was from June '06 the update from November '06

Bang for the buck, even if I cant go higher than 2365MHz with the X2 3600+ on this mobo, the Brisbane and the mobo with onboard video and sound and a Tom Clancy Rainbow 6 game thrown in for under $140 with tax and shipping from Newegg, like we said downtown, "Ya can't get hurt"

I think the onboard video is the problem getting higher. I couldn't get any higher than 2365 but the bad boy is humming along.

Here is where it is according to Everest and PC Probe
              2365MHz 31% OC
              FSB 249.0 25% OC
              Memory - 394.3MHz w/4-5-5-13-2T

              Mobo - 36C
              CPU - 41C

It's been folding at 100% CPU usuage for over a day and all settled out there.

              Thanks again

I dunno if a good video card would be worth the $$$ to get more on this mobo. When my daughter is ready maybe I'll do a swap and get a better mobo and a video card.

The apple to get closer to the 3GHz on the cheap looks nice and tasty and keeps calling me

                      Congrats on the build jm.

I've done lots or lurking on this thread and absorbed as much knowledge as I could.

Beauty specs and temps and that baby, when you get sick of it give me a call.

Thanks but I didn't do it the hardware did and Chewy is a great teacher. The Brisbane is capable of more

Well the $50 rebate came from OCZ today but the ram now is $24 cheaper than what I paid for it in April $163.99 - $50 rebate. Prices are tumbling.....good time for a new build

word is they first way overproduced memory for usb drives and memory cards,
then switched over to make more high quality dd2, forecast was everyone would upgrade to vista and have to add a couple of gigs of ram

never thought I would see the sweet spot for cas 4 pc800 ram be 2 1 gig sticks so soon tho

ddr2 is way cheaper than regular ddr
