    Problem with playing some DVD's

I have a Dell 8300 with an NEC DVD RW ND-3550A DVD/CD - ROM Drive with firmware Version 1.07 which is the latest version. I'm having problems with playing DVD's (the deadgirl, thr3e, the breed, the kovak box) and more... I have tried to play these dvd's with three different programs but it seems to me that the dvd is not being read..... I have tried this moves on another computer same problem ..... I found out that three of these movies were from First Look Home Enter.... .... I just dont know what to do..... please helptry to play them with window media player, roxio player, quick timer player and they play on a stanalone and all of my other DVD's work????

Do the movies play in a stand alone player with no problems?
What programs have you tried playing the movie back with?

On this other computer, did you by chance try to play them with the same programs?

Try one or both of the suggested programs...adding another drive ($40) won't accomplish anything or trying another video "decoder" (that is what the other programs are) would be a good way to try and trouble shoot the problem.

One of the reasons we have been sugesting other players is due to the fact the ones you are using are not very good and known to be problimatic on playback.

Those players dont play most of my dvd's well either.

I have also had good luch with Power DVD, the other 2 sugested are free though.

we seem to have exhausted the player issue and as soup pointed out we can't help you any further

I also tried to rip them and the program said that there is no disc in the drive tried it with rip4me dvdfab plat...
