How do I backup PC games?

Ive just seen some scratches on my Command & Conquer Generls dics and im not happy!

What do I need to back it up?

Most games have copy protection. It probably isn't as simple as just copying the disc.

you can download patches if your game is installed and you lost the dvd of the game . . . google is your friend search it . . . !!!

Drive suggestion

I'm a newbie here. I stumbled upon this thread and found it worth discussion. I have loads of data in my PC which includes movies, game, software and other stuffs. This data is very important to me so I have bought myself LG 20x Internal Super Multi DVD Rewriter and it works wonders for me. I would suggest you to buy an internal or external drive to create backup for all your PC games. Methinks, its the best option.
