Remote Assistance??

Ok being as I need some assistance I have been offered to have an online tech whom has helped me in the past clean/speed up/fix my pc remotely.
Should I allow this?
He has helped me in the past with issues what do you think?
Atleast I can watch what he is doing rather than take my pc in to a shop and then I cannot see anything that they are doing!

I had to have an HP tech do that once, everything still works
I dont think either of us know what he did to fix it, he seemed surprised it worked. LOL
