DVD burning error

Hi there guys.

I'd be grateful for whatever advice and assistance you could provide me. Basically, I'm trying to burn some video footage and backup films that I've made onto dvd. I'm using Nero 7 Premium. I've also tried using my mate's Convert to DVD and also Roxio Easy Media Creator 9. I always used Verbatim 16x +R and got about half way through the pack and I started then to get errors. I switched then to some of my mate's cheap and nasty DVD-R and these worked fine. I then went and bought some Verbatim DVD-R but again, they aren't working. Even my mate's cheap and nasty DVD-R aren't working now. I'm quite new to all this so dont know much about going into Registry etc. I've got the Nero Log for the error but it's too long to post here. I'd be happy to send over private email if need be. I'd be grateful for any assistance. Is the problem with my DVD Burner? I'm considering doing a full system restore/reboot to see if that will help. I've tried updating the drivers for my dvd rewriter but it says they're up to date already. The make is:- HL-DT-ST-DVDRRW GSA-4164B (I don't even know what make that is!)

try seperating the vision and the burn parts into 2 steps and post a nero burn log

those LG GSA-4164B had a lot of bad drives, especially the oem models
