    Annoying Firefox browser situation

I notice that when I use FF themes, I tend to easily "slip" the pointer off of the vertical scroll bar on the right side. If I use the standard FF theme, this doesn't happen; With that one, I can "throw" the mouse the whole way to that side of the page & still be able to scroll w/o sliding off the bar.

Makes browsing very tedious to say the least, because it requires that I take my eyes off the page & constantly "hunt" for the scroll bar & make sure I am on it "just right". Anyone else have this happening? Is there a way to correct it?

katz no problem with FF and the Abstract Classic 2.1.8 theme with me. Try adjusting the monitor horizontal size a lil bit bigger or moving it a lil to the right. A mouse with a scroll is nice too, it don't matter where the mouse pointer is on the screen and ya can still scroll by turning it or if ya click on it just moving the mouse in any direction will move the screen in that direction.

I'll give the monitor adjustment a try; it does this on both my xp pc & linux pc, so maybe both monitors are out of adjustment.

Well, this looks like one of those things I am going to have to fight with

I changed the monitor adjustments, no good; I switched to Abstract Classic 2.1.8 theme, still no go. Now I notice if I even use the standard FF theme, it still happens.

I am using a trackball, but I wouldn't see that as being the problem, and the xp pc has a regular mouse on it, which we have the problem with unless we use the standard FF theme.

        Weird happenings, that's for sure...

Hey katz, are you using beryl? I think it's a bug you are experiencing. Sorry I'm in a rush but thought this way you can look into it. Hope this helps.

If you have a maximized Firefox window, throwing your mouse to the right usually lets you scroll, due to Fitt's law. However, with compiz or beryl enabled, it breaks Fitt's law because for some reason it reserves a pixel of space on the full right and left edges of the screen (not just the corner four hot spots that it uses for Expose-like stuff).

I am using beryl, but if I turn it off I still get the same thing. Also on my XP pc, still the same issue. On the XP box, if I use an alternate theme is when it happens; with the standard theme it works ok; but on the linux box, it does it with all themes...

EDIT: I just turned on metacity, & now it seems to be working ok; funny, I could have sworn this was not the case yesterday!

Still doesn't explain why it doesn't work on the other pc though (XP)
