    Dvd problems

I used to have a Plextor Px-716A dvd, recently I bought the same one. Ever since I had this new one my read speed and burn speed have been slower. I used to burn at 4x now it only burns at 1.6x and reads at about 2.5X. My other dvd drive also reads slower (not the burner). I have done everything I can think of. Updated my firware, Checked my Primary and Secondary IDE channels making sure they were on DMA if available and Ultra DMA Mode, tried adjusting my read/burn speeds with dvdd. I don't think it's just a problem with the burner because like I said before my problem is also affecting my Dvd drive ,when I read with that as well. Any help would be fantastic.

it's sounds like a bad cable or improper jumer settings, if you haven't changed anything else like drivers?

Just in case windows is lying about the dma, try fixing it anyway
