Keyboard Power - Grand Ultimate 2000

Hi,

I have a "Grand Ultimate 2000" video converter that draws power from the Keyboard outlet on the computer. Anyone have any idea what the output power is? I want to run the video converter off a wall transformer, and don't want to "fry it!"

welcome to the forum

you should have received a usb and ps2 power cable, either of those should draw enough power from either usb, mouse or keyboard ports

if you have to come up with a wall transformer then you better google usb power,
standard dc 5 volts I would think?

maybe 200 ma tops

and polarity can be checked from your cable

if you don't understand this then leave it alone and use the supplied cables

or use a powered USB hub that ll give it enough juice if your usb port on your computer doesnt seem to

Thanks for the help so far. I did not receive a ps2 or USB connector, I purchased it 5-6 years ago if that makes a difference. I will likely try a 5 volt power supply.

While we are on it, is there any better way to put a computer graphic onto a TV Screen. (I teach part time, and can't afford an LCD projector)

are u using a laptop? or desktop?

most laptops have a S-Video port on them or err a lot of em do

or if your laptop just has a VGA output you can find a VGA to S-Video or a generic RCA Composite Video (Yellow) and then get a stereo headphone to RCA audio (the typical white and red on a TV) for the sound

I would recommend getting an S-Video one if the TV will support it or a Component Video (RED, Blue, Green inputs on a TV) for the best picture, as a Regular TV runs at a lower resolution than your laptop is, will prolly havte to adjsut the resolution to 640x480 for the TV, not too positive on this?!? As I never really have messed with this!
