    qsi dvdrw sdw-042

Hello all, i am praying someone can help me with what seems a rediculously easy problem.
My CD/DVD drive above tells me it is working properly and yet it does not recognise that a disk is even in the drive? that is the same for DVD and CD alike. I have run the troublehsooters etc to no avail.
I am currently serving in Iraq and need to watch DVDs!

Can anyone lend a hand please?

    welcome to the forum

they do die rather quickly, often just not reading cd's or dvd's, however in a few cases it's a conflict from installed software/drivers that causes this

Microsoft support is here to help you with Microsoft products. Find how-to articles, videos, and training for Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365, Windows, Surface, and more.

you might try the guided help to clean up those drivers, it's a long shot but better than replacing the drive and finding out corrupted filters was the problem
