my dell e310 has a sata ll hard drive, but the dvd-rom and the dvd-rw it came w/are ides. is this possible? 2 different types of data transfer on the same pc?
also my power supply unit came only w/1 power cable for the dvd-rom w/an extension that connects to the burner. does this in anyway decrease performance? the only other power cable available is a p7. the power cable for the dvd-rom is a p3 or p5 as is the power cable for the hard drive which is a p5.
dell techs told me that they're trying to eliminate clutter by using the least amount of cables in the tower.
sounds like they're trying to save $$$ on extra power cables. i need all the help and/or suggestions w/this.
p.s. if you guys don't here from me for a while it means i took this pc and threw it out the window!!!
