    PC to TV

Hi folks. I want to use TV as an extra display so wife can see audio/video chats with family abroad, also possibly to view tvto pc which are now legaly available.
I know I can hitch up with Svideo cable, and can match up resolutions OK, but is it possible to make the link via unused firewire/wi fi connections I have but not in use instead of 24ft of cable ??
If either method used, will it overheat psu or processor etc, and can you view both displays at same time??
    AMD3400+ Athlon,Nvidia Geforce FX 5500,1Gb ram

Sorry if posted in wrong place. Thanks......

Hmmm for veiwing a current display of what going on?!? I dont quite know if there is anything for this.

The current applications for a WiFi are like SlingBox but this is more geared to watching media that is on your system not the current display

you might want to see what type of adapters are availble to convert but to use a Firewire output or transporting the current display over wireless, I just do not think there is anything out there, i could be wrong but I have yet to see anything that might do this. Good Question tho made me think and actually had to look around.

Your best bet is to run a long S-Video Cable as when you use the S-Video output you will not have to change the display setting or resolution of your as the Video Card doees this for you, you may have to change the FONT size of the messenger program to make it readable on a TV as the signal is downconverted

Thanks Nightblade. This is much what I thought, but worth asking the experts. Can easily get long Svideo cable, but its messy over 24ft!!. Will graphics card stand two displays at once though ??? Thanks again....

        showing the same output?

hmm never tried this but should be feasable? as long as nVidia drivers let you as normally dual monitors are for adding additional desktop space

should work i might have to try it to find out myself

Thanks Nightran. This is something I will have to check on.
Second monitor/TV is 32 in HD ready, thought it may take more 'energy' to run that....Will advise after checkup....
