Am I Able To Make Back-Up DVD's?

Do I have it right that its not possible to get any information about how to make back-ups of my dvd's?

That is so stupid. My children can ruin a dvd movie in less than a week. I 'need' to make back-ups to give them that to watch & to keep the original aside for when they need another one.

I don't want to discuss any programs cos I don't want to do the wrong thing by this forum.
