Monitor resolution & XP Service Pack 2

Successfully installed XP Service Pack 2 in my computer but it messed up my monitor's resolution. Could not adjust the resolution to get a clearer & more definitive display on my monitor. I'm assuming that it was the service pack that was causing the problem, because as soon as I uninstalled it, my monitor's resolution was back to normal. Any suggestions.

I wonder if the service pack updated the video driver and caused a conflict with your old driver?

That's just one of many reasons it's best to apply the service pack immediately after a clean install or even slipstreamed into the xp cab files and run as a repair disk

Since sp2 is a prerequisite for almost anything in this day and time, this is a problem you had best resolve

Some even apply it in safe mode

How does one install this service pack in "safe mode" as you suggested?

266MB, use a computer with broadband and save the file

it may be used over and over on other computers, slipstreamed into a new install cd

I already have the service pack on a disk that I ordered from Microsoft. Can I install the service pack in "safe mode" using this disk?
