A Dual Core AMD 64 X2 4400+ or a new Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q6600? My curent computer is the AMD described above. I wondering if the Quad Core would be faster then the AMD even if it has a lower Front side bus speed? Like 1066Mhz to 2000Mhz?

your amd is probably running at 800 fsb or 200 quad pumped
your hypertranspost might be 2000
the intel runs at 266 quad pumped or 1033
many factors weight into how fast a cpu is?

Yeah my computers pretty fast. I guess I was just hoping that it would be way faster than my current computer
I use nero vision alot i was hoping I could cut the time spent making a dvd in half with a quadcore. Theyd be both running the same RAM on sata hdds not sure if thatd make a difference. Whats the next step in processor technology 8 core?

if all 4 cores were being used(dvdrebuilder is one of the apps that will) it's still not twice as fast as 2 cores running the same speed just like 2 cores isn't twice as fast as one
