New Hard Drive not initalizing properly...

I have installed a 250 GB Seagate on SATA 2 connector. It is not showing up in "My Computer"; However it is showing up under Computer management>Disc management as "Unallocated". I am unable to do anything to get this disk formatted, etc.

R Click shows Properties/Help; The "New partition" selection is grayed out. Any suggestions?

    NEVERMIND!

I got it to work; I forgot/overlooked that I had to click on the button to the left where it actually says "Disc #." I don't remember doing that in the past. At any rate, all is well, I am formatting now...

You do it all in disk management

it has to be initialized before you can create a partition
