See katzdvd's post. Capture is built into Windows. Press PrintScreen key to capture the entire desktop. Press Alt-PrintScreen to just capture the active window. Then open Irfanview or any graphics app that has a "Paste" command in edit menu and paste it.

I gotcha'
I gotcha'. There's lots better than the default Windows screen cap but I was just thinking of avoiding one install for the time being. The fewer variables the better until the user gains experience.Comment

I like Gadwin because of the "capture rectangular area" with the mouse cursor so you can basically exactly crop what you're capturing before you save. I sometimes use it for a quick save of small FW alert PUs or AV HIPs PUs that I want to evaluate later, and I've not yet found a way to C&P the print within these PUs to WP or NP. It just saves the time of going back and hunting thru the FW or AV log which I usually forget to do.Comment

This should help. About halfway down the page, the part about Microsoft Windows explains how to do it. After you save your pic & edit it to a manageable size, you can use a free pic hosting service, such as imageshack to host it. You then copy the url that imageshack give you for the pic url & paste it on the forum in the text box.
Hope that clears it up a bit.Last edited by katzdvd; 13 Mar 2008, 08:51 PM.Comment

Hi Katz. I'm going to hit that imageshack and read the Microsoft bit. 1 Question though. I didn't check off any boxes when installing Irfanview. You know, the ones w/png, jpeg, etc... because I don't know about that much. Was it necessary to check off on those? If it is then I need to uninstall Irfanview and install it again. Any suggestions on this? Thnx.SAMSUNG SH-S203B, SAMSUNG SH-S223F,

I am going to assume those boxes, were the "file association" boxes....What that means is, what ever box has a check in it, whenever you double click/open a file with that extension (extension = .jpeg), it will open it by default in Infraview. If there is no check mark in the box and you double click/open that file, whatever other program is associated with that file extension will open it up.Comment

I'll add my 2 cents (confusion) as well...
