Really need some help with this! Installed xp service pack 2 on my HP, & it messed up my monitor's color & resolution. Tried to adjust color & resolution, but apparently the service pack froze these adjustments in monitor properties. Had to uninstall the service pack in order to restore my monitor's color & resolution. Does anyone have any insight or suggestions as to what might have caused this & how to fix it? PLEASE HELP!!!

what's the make and model of your computer, give some details, custom video card? -
xp service pack 2 (again)
It's an older computer, an HP Pavillion XT963. Runs XP Home Edition & no custom video card, just the one that came with it. Acoording to manufacturer, has the following resolutions:640 x 480: 16/256/32 K/64 K/16.7 M colors, 800 x 600: 16/256/32 K/64 K colors,
1024 x 768: 16/256/32 K/64 K colors & 1280 x 1024: 256 colors. Hope this helps. Thanks.Comment

your xp version is so old it's almost impossibe to fix
you can run windows as a repair disk
finding an oem xp sp2 home disk is the trick, have your numbers handyComment
