rror Message:
The content cannot be played under your monitor’s current resolution. Please lower your resolution. (Error Code 0124)
Translation:
CyberLink’s PowerDVD 7 displays this error message when the graphics card and/or monitor cannot handle the 1,920 x 1,080 resolution of 1080i/p Blu-ray or HD DVD video protected by HDCP (high-bandwidth digital content protection; a standard created by Intel to protect high-definition content).
As an example, Dell’s 3007WFP monitor will not play a Blu-ray or HD DVD movie above 720p resolution (desktop resolution of 1,280 x 800 or 1,280 x 768) when used in conjunction with a GeForce 8800 GTX video card over a digital DVI connection. Despite the fact that the 8800 GTX is HDCP-enabled, this only holds true for single-link DVI output. The Dell 3007WFP monitor limits itself to 1,280 x 800 resolution in single-link DVI mode, so the net effect is a high-def limitation of 720p.
Solution:
Check for updates on the sites of the manufacturers of your hardware and software, but you’ll likely need to upgrade your monitor or graphics card.
Some large monitors support single-link DVI resolutions up to 1,920 x 1,200, so they may be able to play HDCP content at 1080 resolution with an 8800 GTX or similar card. Likewise, newer graphics cards may feature HDCP playback over dual-link DVI connections, which might make the Dell 3007WFP monitor in our example play 1080i/p video.Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!Comment

I had DVD Region+CSS Free running in the background and the PowerDVD 8 trial version worked just fine on GeForce 8800 GT OC. If you use WinDVD 9, you don't need DVD Region+CSS Free. Hope these help.
PowerDVD 8 is more mature with more options and configurations. The output is snowy "out of the box", but with some video settings: home theater profile + smart de-interlacing turned on, the picuture is digitally clear. WindDVD 9 picture is clear "out of the box" with de-snow filter, but has an interlacing problem. I don't know how to turn on WinDVD 9 de-interlacing.Comment
