    the xp chipset driver should have had the lan in it

    that would have been the only one I loaded as a matter of course

    the mobo cd should have had it

        Ok.So do I need drivers period? 32bit? Also tech said maybe my internet card in mobo not working? Audio not on either? audio driver or check cable inside? It does sound off when going into bios, but doesn't give that 54 billion dollar jingle from Billy boy...

            mobo cd says vista drivers inside. don't know if they're in addition to the xp drivers or alone. didn't bother putting mobo cd in because of that.

              Well it's up and running. using it as i post. Just going to need further tweaking in voltage, cas, etc... XP chipset download asked if I wanted to install some kinda advanced ide drive that would b beneficial in creating a raid disc. I said no. No biggie I guess because it said I didn't have to install it as it won't affect my system.

              Here's an overclock from everest. any pointers would do well. thnx.

                  I figured something was up when it didn't show up. 1? Is that chassis fan suppose to blow into the case or out? I thought it was put in backward so i flipped it. Now I have the case open and i noticed it's blowing str8 at the cpu fan which I thought would blow out but it's blowing towards the cpu. Obviously since it's suppose to cool it. Thnx.


                  btw figured the ide thingy out. had to switch drives from master to slave. now they're recognised.

                      My hard drives show up in bios but not in windows. it looks like it partitioned the 250gb into 2 50gb partitions and put 1 in local disc C and the other in local disc E. Clean install or can fix in bios? Wab...

                      Also shows I have a floppy disc in A which I don't. What a mess....

                          It threw my program files in both 50gb partitions on both hd. 1 says healthy boot which is the 250gb and the other 1 says healthy system on the 500 gb. Is that normal 4 it to have your program files in both hds? Also it shows you the amount of unallocated space which is what I want to allocate. If it's par for the course to have both those healthy boot and healthy system w/my files then so b it. If not I just want them in my 50gb partition on my 250gb hd.

                              Ok I got the extra 200 gig partitioned into an extended w/a logical drive in it. It shows up as master boot w/the program files in the 50 partition. Windows setup still throws the program files into the 500 gig XP as system. I did however manage to partition the unallocated space so it has full storage. Is that Ok? If better to add the 500 hd to the mobo after I do the 250 I could. No biggie. I hung out w/Google last night so I learned the disc management thingy and a clean install is nothing as there's hardly anything on here anyhow.

                                you must have the 500 setup on the wrong controller or have pointed to it when loading windows?

                                It is easier to just have the 250 hooked up

                                just guessing I would have connected the 250 to sata 1
                                glancing at your manual

                                I would not have allowed the 500 to be active unless I was going to partition it with a 50 gig system partition just incase i want to install another copy of windows on it?

                                that is a little advanced, just yet
