1:13 ~50fps with dvdflick for the video conversion
1:13~50fps = 1hr. 13mins. at 50fps? that link shows trailers. Haven't clicked on any of them but are they actually divx flics that could be converted using dvdflic? I'll do some more research in the mean time and download dvdflick etc...

total time for the whole operation was 1:39

      A lot of avi's I get 60-65 with my single core oc'd amd64

Once you get a benchmark down you want to track the time it takes

I have set a certain compression qhwew I had video files on one hard drive and used a program to compress them and put on another hard drive

that way I knew the hard drives or even an optical drive was not slowing the process down, if properly designed the video benchmark is bottlenecked only by the cpu/ram subsystem

I get you. Have some files on 1 hd and take care of them and switch them to another hd. Then track the amount of time it takes and that'll be the benchmark for the screen shots of the cpu/memory.

When I was doing all this a few years ago, I had a certain set of files on a dvd and I started testing how quicky I could extract them and then compress/edit them into
a smaller size, a few tests later It was evident that any extraction from an optical drive might limit or bottleneck the tests.

To test my performance I had to eliminate variables from the equation and isolate each step.

Once I had established a baseline for my computer's stock settings and a time, I could play with bios and see what was best, I might get memory working faster or the cpu or even both but actually test worse.

Here goes. Benchmark took 10min. 29sec. Only thing on was cpuz and irfanview.

W/this heat/humidity ac was on 4 while, then off while testing. basically temp lil warmer towards middle and/or end of benchmark. No biggie 4 now. tweak temp when applicable.

ok it's time to try to raise the multiplier, it's set at 13 now, see what going to 14 does

I wonder if you could raise the fsb a little now, it would be nice to push the ram a little more as it's running undervolted and at higher cas levels

the divider between the cpu and memory is looking good

the other option would be to push the multiplier higher and see what happens with the memory

                            Did your benchmark improve?

The pc improved. That much I could tell. It's zipping lil faster w/multiplier @14. I haven't tried the benchmark w/the 14 setting. check that 1st, or go ahead and raise the fsb? We already raised the multiplier. maybe raising the fsb, checking that out and if anything hit the multiplier another notch?

see what happens if you raise the multiplier to 16

                                3/13 should be a 22% overclock

see what happens to the memory

if it crashes and you can't get back into bios make sure you know how to clear cmos
