    Windows Xp Service Pack 2

I installed XP SP2 recently & everything went fine until I restarted my computer & found that the resolution on my monitor was totally distorted. I tried resetting the resolution back to 1024 x 768 but found out that the resolution adjustment had also been frozen. I had to uninstall SP2 in order to adjust the resolution back to 1024 x 768. Has anyone else run into this problem? Need help!

    temporary disable ur anti virus
    uninstall ur display drivers
    install sp2
    install latest display drivers
    enable anti virus
Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

      Display drivers

      Hey Atifish

Thanks for responding, & I have just one question. Since I've never done it before, & just to be on the safe side, how does one uninstall & then install display drivers? Thanks.

        my computer>rightclick>properties

        hardware>device manager

select your video apapter and remove

        then apply sp2

        and reboot

        this is basic computing 101

personally i would reccomend updating the driver

of course it would be nice if you would tell us what video device you were using

by the way service packs do not work well with old corrupted installs

sp2 came out 4 years ago
