Noisy links

Help!

I've done something to my PC and now every link I left click is accompanied by a sound that signifies I've clicked the damn thing (middle clicks do not exhibit this behaviour). Same thing happens when I click on a link in the links toolbar or the back / forward icon.

Short of turning the volume down on my speakers while browsing, is there a setting to change somewhere? Or am I totally mad and only now just realising this is normal behaviour for IE7?

I hope this what you are looking for

Control Panel/Sounds, speech, audio device/sounds and audio devices/sound tab

Then set start navigation to none.

I always have the volume turned all the way down on my laptop. So if this has happened I would not even know.

My friend had the same problem last year and it turned out to be a virus! Something had changed the attributes of the mouse so whatever was clicked, it produced an awful sound.

Spybot finally dealt with that one

I agree Chewy i banish IE from my computer as soon as i turn it on! Only ever use Firefox or Opera!

I like IE6... I've been using Firefox lately since IE was causing some malware to run here... but IE6 is not bad. IE7 I hate, though.
