Been practicing my cut outs.Just curious on how it looks and how to improve it

Did you use the smart select tool? That's pretty good! I have been doing that with some of my fractals. It's how I added the marble to this fractal http://kabuchan.deviantart.com/art/Caught-87228928

In PS, it is better done with Filter/Extract, IMO.

I did the filter extract way.Here is what I used as a tutorial.I can see my flaws and what I missed in the white background.I was wondering how one gets rid of the jagged edges

Zoom in and use the Eraser maybe ?

i like layer-masks in ps very much and i'd use it for selections like this as well

When using extract, before clicking on ok, click on preview. There you will have some cleanup tools.

Zoom right on the picture and drag some of the white over the jagged edges. Left-click on the white and hold the button down to form a tiny oblong for the dragging.

What you should have done is, when you cut around Rambo, make sure you have another photo on the screen so that you could have dragged him onto the other photo and do as I said before except there would be no white in the background. If you made it look as if he's standing in your back garden, drag parts of your back garden that fits to cover the jagged bits. Then it will look better. What you've done so far is good. Most of the time mine goes wrong because I don't have a steady hand and one mistake ruins the lot.
