thank U .... this worked ... now ... when I search 4 a program, specifically,adobe flash player, it comes up zero ..... and I know that it's installed .. any thoughts on this ?

When you type a letter into the search box, you should get a list of everything that starts with that letter.
When I type in "A" I get all the Adobe stuff but not Flash Player. That may be because it's not a program you use, it's basically a support software to run video/games. But if I go into Control Panel>Programs and Features, it's right there. You can also go into Explorer and find it easily that way.
