Acronis True Image version 8 free

    #44
TrueImage (not free) - yes, but take a look here…
    http://www.acronis.co.uk/mag/pcpro/ati8pe

While looking at Give Away of the Day at a program called Macrium Reflect it showed a posting I believe it was #83. The posting showed the url above to get Acronis True Image version 8 free. You have to register and follow the instructions to get your free copy. If you are interested in Acronis or any other backup imaging program I hope this helps.

I just downloaded the Reflect free version from here:

I use Paragon Drive Backup but I was curious if the download would work.
Do you have a test setup to actually try it out?

On another forum there was this link:

There's a feature chart. The free one looks like it's worth doing if it really restores and you're on a tight budget.

I think the one that I downloaded is supposed to have some things that the free version doesn't have but it does look like the free version would be well worth trying. I had only downloaded and activiated mine from the GAOTD offering like an hour before it expired. If I had found it sooner I would have been able to post it here for others to look at. I was particularly interested in a program that would image and was interested in Acronis True Image and Norton's Ghost. I did download the GAOTD offer for Macrium Reflect.

I'm very happy with the Paragon Drive Backup Personal. It's bailed me out a few times.
About the only complaint is that the "updates" seem to amount to one or two bug fixes, then a new major version comes out. But since it's less than $50 I can't complain too much. I've restored with it a few times and it actually does the job. The only thing I haven't tried is restore over the network but it's supported even on the Personal recovery disc. It's got what I need.
